Judge Says Sex Offender Must Move

A Creek County judge has issued a 1,000 foot protective order for a woman and her family in Bristow who are living next door to the man convicted of molesting the woman in 2004. The order means convicted sex offender Harold English has ten days to leave. English got out of prison on June 13 and moved in with his mother who lives next door to the victim. There is currently nothing in Oklahoma law that prevents a sex offender from living near their victim. State Senator James Leewright of Bristow and Representative Kyle Hilbert of Depew want to change that. They say they are committed to fixing the loophole in the law next session.
