Pardon Request

State Attorney General Mike Hunter is once again asking President Trump to pardon former U.S. Army 1st Lt. Michael Behenna of Edmond. Behenna was convicted of killing a suspected terrorist in Iraq and served 5 years of a 15-year sentence. Hunter asked President Trump last year for a pardon for Behenna but the Department of Justice ruled that Behenna was ineligible. Hunter says the U.S. Constitution gives the President nearly absolute authority to pardon people from federal crimes.
