You have heard me say before the best thing about shooting at a local range is making friends with people who like to shoot! They're always interested in what you are shooting, and showing you what they are shooting. There is a camaraderie to share techniques and experiences. One such friend asked me to shoot his Kel Tec Sub 2000 rifle. If it goes BANG! I'm in.
I own a Kel Tec 9mm pistol and didn't really like it until I learned the proper way to operate it's double action. I also learned Kel Tec is a pretty good company that makes a variety of affordable guns. The Sub-2000 is one of them.
The first big feature of the rifle is that is folds in half. I usually like to review how concealable a gun is and this is seriously cool! It is a semi-auto carbine for pistol cartridges and comes in 9mm Lugar and 40 Caliber Smith and Wesson. It is light, well balanced, and easy to handle. Where a head shot with a pistol at 50 yards can be a challenge; with the Sub-2000 it is no problem even for the most inexperienced shooter. It has a ton of customizable features and is affordable with an MSRP around 400 dollars. Invest in a high capacity magazine and you'll be shooting all day.
Kel Tec Sub-2000 Positives:
-folds in half-really cool!
-light, adaptable and easy to use
-shoots a variety of rounds you probably have on hand.
-affordable.
Kel Tec Sub-2000 Negatives:
-more of a weapon for target practice than home defense.
-not an AR-15. :)
