      Myths of the AR-15

-theAR in AR 15 stands for Assault rifle.     It stands for Arma Light.

-Because it comes apart it is deadly.  It comes apart because you can re-fit it with different barrels for different calibers, even a crossbow.  So are you saying you want to bann cross bows too?

-it is the most powerful rifle on the planet.  There are far more, even your standard deer rifle is more powerful.

-it was designed to kill.  –it was designed using military technology in order to more effectively wound.  Wounding the enemy is more expensive because the enemy now has to use resources to treat the wounded.

-the collapsible stock makes it more compact, concealable, and more deadly.  The collapsible stock is designed to better fit different shooters, and only reduces the size by 4 inches.

-the round it fires is too powerful for hunting and is only meant for assault.  Most standard AR-15s shoot a .223 round, not much bigger around than a 22, and most standard deer rifles are far larger and more powerful.

-the semi-automatic nature is designed only for close anti-personnel and is no good
for hunting at long ranges.  The gun is effective at short AND long ranges. (see the video)

-because it is so versatile it is more deadly.   Because it is so versatile it is more sought after.
