Not long ago on the show I said Federal, State, and Local authorities cannot go door to door to take away legally owned fire arms without a warrant. I was flooded with references to this NRA video and links to it as well.
I am a member of and support the NRA, but there is lot the they left out.
No, not that this video was produced four years after the fact. No, not that the confiscations only happened in parts of Orleans and St. Tamany Parish. Metarie, Kenner, Gretna, Morerro, Mandeville, Slidell and other suburbs reported no confiscations.
The most important part they left out was the NRA successfully sued the city of New Orleans and an injunction was granted returning all fire arms confiscated or due compensation by the city paid.
Yes the city of New Orleans and State of Louisiana tried to take legally owned fire arms away from citizens. I didn't say they wouldn't try. I said they cannot do it legally. the courts ruled it illegal. I stand by what I said.
Remember to double check what you see on the internet. Also remember our second amendment right will not be taken until we allow it. I bet a lot of people in this video if asked again by officials, "Any fire arms in your house?" will think twice before saying yes!
