A 51-year-old Oklahoma City woman is the metro's 75th homcide victim of the year after she was shot Friday night and died later at a local hospital.

Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow tells NewsRadio 1000 KTOK that it happened Friday night in the 1600 block of NW 15th Street when Lorinda Frans and her husband walked out of their house and apparently startled the suspects, 26-year-old Brandon Bates and 32-year-old Brian Cook.

Sgt. Wardlow says shots were fired and Frans later died at a local hospital.

Bates and Cook have since been arrested and face a first degree murder charge.

Sgt. Wardlow also says Bates and Cook had outstanding warrants in unrelated matters.
