Oklahoma City Police reporting now that the metro area's recorded its 77th homicide victim of the year.

Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow tells Newsradio 1000 KTOK that 21-year-old Orlando Joshawn Smith died at a local hospital after police found him shot and wounded late yesterday afternoon.

It happened in the 7500 block of Knight Lake Road at an apartment complex.

When police arrived, they found Smith shot and wounded.  He was rushed to a local hospital where he later died.

Sgt. Wardlow says officers are in the early stages of the investigation and that if anyone has any info on the case, he or she should call the Oklahoma City Police Homicide Tip Line at 405.297.1200.
