Over the objections of some parents and school administrators, the State Board of Education voted Thursday to approve the release of first-time A-F School Report Cards, that grade all public schools in the state on student performance. More than 90 percent of all schools across the state received a grade of C or higher, with nearly 50 percent receiving a B. State School Superintendent Janet Barresi said the report cards are user-friendly, straightforward and fair.
