An upcoming state House interim study is meant to look at how oil and gas companies reimburse landowners for property damage.
Representative Lisa Billy of Lindsay says several contituents have drilling agreements with various energy companies.
"That's what fuels our economy, and we certainly don't want to do anything to stifle that," Billy told KTOK. "At the same time, we want to make sure our landowners are comfortable and feel a part of that process as well."
Billy said some land owners are concerned about being promptly reimbursed for land damages.
She said Wednesday's interim study is expected to include both property owners and representatives from the energy sector.
