It began as a traffic stop for speeding and ended as an officer-involved shooting that left one wounded and two others in custody on the metro's southwest side.
It happened last night near SW 59th and Penn Avenue as our broadcast partners NewsChannel 4 KFOR report that officers tried to effect a traffic stop and the car sped away.
A short while later, near SW 59th and Agnew, three men reportedly bailed out of the car and one allegedly pulled a gun on officers who were in pursuit.
The suspect was struck by gunfire and taken to a local hospital where his condition has not yet been released.
The two others with the wounded suspect were arrested and KFOR reports that OKC Police Capt. Dexter Nelson says the officer involved in the shooting remains on administrative duty while the incident is investigated.
