Supporters of State Question 765, to dissolve the Human Services Commission which oversees D.H.S. are urging it's passage on Tuesday.

Representative Jason Nelson of Oklahoma City says numerous child deaths in recent years point to the need for reform:

"Nobody wants to be like Oklahoma in terms of how they run their human services agency. I think anyone who has been paying attention the last several years understands exactkly why that's the case," Nelson said.

Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy Director Linda Terrell says reform's needed to protect at-risk kids.

"To make sure Oklahoma's most vulnerable children are cared for in our state, and are cared for properly," terrill said.

Supporters of State Question 765 would not dissolve D.H.S. itself, only the commission which governs it.
