Governor Mary Fallin said she's learned some Oklahoma schools are not holding emergency drills as frequently as they should.
"I've already asked superintendents in our school systems to pull out their emergency plans. To dust them off. To review them and update them."
On Wednesday, Fallin told the Associated Press Oklahoma Legislative Forum she's urging school superintendents to have emergency drills, so students and faculty know what to do in the event of a crisis.
"When we had those situations occur in Sandy Hook, I asked how many of our schools are having current drills. I did find out some are not drilling students like they should be. As frequently as they should be," Fallin said.
