The State Board of Career and Technology Education has selected Robert Sommers of Middletown, Ohio as the new state director of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education. Sommers will join the department on April 1. He will replace Phil Berkenbile who retires February 7th. Sommers is chief executive officer/managing partner of Carpe Diem Learning Systems and a former superintendent of Butler Technology and Career Development Schools in Hamilton, Ohio.
