It was more than just a string of robberies on the city's northwest side overnight, as Oklahoma City Police confirm there was also a kidnapping involved.
OKC Police MSgt. Gary Knight tells NewsRadio 1000 KTOK that officers were in the area near NW 36th Street and Meridian Avenue when they noticed a suspicious-looking car at an ATM machine.
As the car pulled off, officers followed until two suspects bailed from the vehicle. Officers caught both suspects a short while later and learned that a third person in the car was actually a kidnap victim, taken by the suspects to the ATM machine.
In all, there were some five robberies reported, with all matching the description of the suspects and the method they were carried out.
No word yet on the identities of the suspects or possible charges against them.
There were no serious injuries during the robberies.
