A bill to allow CLEET certified teachers and principals to carry guns on school campuses passes the state House Public Safety Committee:

It's a much talked-about idea brought by Republican Mark McCullough of Sapulpa.

"The best probable solution would be resource officers in every school, so there would be somebody there fulltime watching our children; watching my children," McCullough told committee members. "In a scenario where something like this were to happen, I would want Mister Reed to run toward that guy. I would run toward that guy."

After a host of questions, McCullough's bill passed committee and advances on to the full House.
