(AP) One day after supporters rallied at the State Capitol, a bill to ban texting while driving was derailed Thursday by the House Calendar Committee. The Committee voted to table the bill by Smithville Democrat Curtis McDaniel. But McDaniel says it could still be brought to the floor for a vote. House Speaker T.W. Shannon opposes the bill. He says he's concerned about how a ban would be enforced and he says distracted driving is already illegal in Oklahoma.
