Sounds like the days of using welfare cash cards at any place which accepts Mastercard could end, under terms of a bill which passed the state Senate.
Cards issued by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission are currently honored by any merchant accepting Mastercard.
"Restrict that from use in strip clubs, liquor stores and casinos," Republican Senator Rob Standridge of Norman told KTOK.
Standridge said he wants to make sure public assistance funds are being used to support families and children.
His bill passed the Senate 46 to zero on Tuesday, and heads to the House.
