The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority has approved a $14 million contract to renovate the Vinita Service Plaza that spans the Will Rogers Turnpike. "This building was built back in 1957 and time and age have just kind of caught up with it," OTA spokesman Jack Damrill told KTOK. "It's in desperate need of repair and so we have been looking at this for several years." The work is set to begin in June and will last about one year. The plaza will be closed during that time but Damrill says the turnpike lanes will remain open.
