The state of Oklahoma will receive $1.8 million thanks to FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. Keli Cain with the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management says $1 million is allocated for Oklahoma City's safe room rebate program. 504 Oklahoma City homes were randomly chosen last year from more than 3,300 applications. Residents will be notified in the next few weeks with instructions how to proceed with safe room construction. The maximum rebate is 75 percent of the cost of a storm shelter, not to exceed $2,000.
