The state Board of Education on Tuesday adopted a $2.3 billion budget for the 2011 fiscal year.

     The FY-2010 budget was $2.5 billion.

     State Schools Superintendent Sandy Garrett says fundng cuts mean Oklahoma education is in a "danger area".

     Garrett told board members protecting children and teachers is their first priority.

     The 2011 fiscal year begins Thursday.
