Republicans in State Senate District 43 can vote early through Monday, August eighth, in the upcoming Senate District 43 special election. State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax says Republican voters can cast early ballots at either the Oklahoma or Cleveland County election boards, depending in which county the voter resides. Ziriax said early voting is underway. "Friday until 6:00 p.m, Saturday from 8:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m, and on Monday 8:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m.," Ziriax said. The Republican candidates are Greg Childers of Del City and Theresa Nelson of Oklahoma City. The winner of the Tuesday, August ninth primary will face Democrat Kenneth Meador of Moore in the October 11th special election. The State Senate District 43 seat was vacated by former Senator Jim Reynolds, who is now Cleveland County Treasurer.
