The Defense budget for 2013 is being unveiled today at the Pentagon and
members of the Oklahoma Congressional delegation will pay close attention, wondering about the impact at the military installations in Oklahoma.
It's believed the new budget will include the retirement of seven old KC-135 refueling tankers at the Tinker and Altus Air Force bases. The seven are among 300 the Air Force plans to retire.
The budget will be explained by Under Secretary of Defense Robert Hale during a Pentagon briefing at 1 p.m. Oklahoma time. Then the Departments of Army, Navy and Air Force will offer separating 40-minute briefings.
